CHANEL LE TOP COAT LAMÉ ROUGE NOIR (GOLD SPARKLE NAIL COAT) FOR CHRISTMAS 2015

"The Christmas collection pays tribute to LE VERNIS Rouge Noir nail polish with a limited-edition top coat featuring gold lamé shimmers.  Day and night in this festive season, its transparent formula, infused with golden pearlescent pigments, dresses up nails in precious sparkling effects." ~ Chanel.com

This is a tri-phase top coat.  Below is how the top coat looks when it has not been shaken.  You can see the clear top coat at the top then the deep plum tint/pigment in the centre followed by the gold particles that are the heaviest and have, therefore settled down the bottom of the bottle.

Packaging
All Chanel nail polishes come in the square-shaped glass bottles. The square cap at the top can be removed and used to rest your finger tip on as you apply the nail polish.

The applicator brush is thin allowing for precise application. It makes it particularly easy for those with little or narrower nails.

On My Nails...
As I haven't picked up Chanel Rouge Noir, I used Tom Ford's Bordeaux Lust instead.  I applied two coats of that followed by one to two coats of the Rouge Noir Gold Sparkle Top Coat.  You can apply more layers of the top coat if you wish to intensify the effect of the golden sparkles.  For reference I have medium, olive (~NC30-35) skin tone.  All swatches were photographed indoors using a strobe.
Formula
Overall, the formula is pretty good as it isn't too thin or too thick.  It easily glides on over the top smoothly and evenly without disturbing the nail colour underneath (provided it is dry, of course).  The gold particles also seem to apply relatively evenly across the nail provided you have shaken the bottle well beforehand.  I really like that the gold aren't huge glitter chunks that leave the nails feeling gritty.  The particles seem to lay flat and the nails feel mostly smooth overall so I reckon they're more like ultra thin gold foil particles perhaps rather than traditional glitter.

Size
13 ml / 0.40 fl. oz. of product.

Availability
Available now at Chanel beauty boutiques and select Chanel counters in Myer and David Jones in Australia while limited edition stocks last.

Overall
This metallic gold sparkle top coat is unique in my collection and probably the first that has the same glitter effect without feeling gritty and chunky on the nails.  I often like a bit of glitter, but hate that grittiness!  I also love its ease of use and the even application and distribution of the gold sparkles on the nails with a single swipe.  I usually have to go and reapply on certain areas to ensure a blank patch is filled with traditional glitter polishes, but not with this one.  You can apply this on any nail colour, but I think it's apt and beautiful on top of a deep, blackened red for the festive Christmas season.  I may even wear this on top of black nail colour for New Year's celebration. :)  I'm sure Chanel nail polish fans will not want to miss this one.  It's my favourite out of the three nail products in this collection.

Hope this was helpful. :)

Thanks for looking! ^_^ xo
